When i was first given the task of creating a sound objects pieces i researched the concept of the sound objects and also looked for inspiration into how i could construct the piece. Main influences i found during this time were the first musique concrete pieces by composer pierre schaeffer including the piece "etude aux chemins de fer" or Study for Railway as well as John Cages "fontana mix" and various plunder-phonic recordings including "Since i Left You" by the avalanches and The Beatles "Revolution No 9". i started to assemble the piece by taking field recordings of things such as Trains leaving the station and listener ensemble Practises. i also took recordings of various instruments i had access to including a snare drum, tenor saxophone and piano as well as breathing. i also used a vocal sample from the Pieces "Spiders" by Rosehall, which i co-wrote in 2018. this sample is the beginning of the piece, this is followed by saxophone blasts inspired by Peter Brotzmanns "Machine Gun". i pieced and automated the piece using the DAW Protools. In future i would like this piece performed using destructive tape loop.
