I first started my woodwind journey playing clarinet around the age of 11, i started on the clarinet because a music teacher told me it would be a good way to ease me into my true passion... the saxophone. i enjoyed the clarinet alot, playing in my schools band.
after 2 years on the clarinet i transitioned to the alto saxophone, i again played in the school band, even playing shows at Perth Concert Hall and with the Matt Styles Massed Sax Extravaganza.
after about 3 years i finally got my tenor saxophone which is my current weapon of choice. it was around this time i joined the avant-folk, experimental, free jazz band Rosehall, we recorded our first full length over the course of half a year and releaced our album "The First Requisite is Life" on the 26th of April 2018, with cassettes coming later.
in Late 2018 i Joined John Zealous, in early 2019 we recorded and releaced our first album "Emma Watson". we also started Haunted Attics Records to Release both our own and our friends music. We are also playing and organising shows and gigs. as of 2020 John Zealous has releaced 1 album 3 eps and a double single.
i Started playing guitar in 2018 as a way of learning more chordal instruments, midway through 2019 i started Vacuum Dreamer, Taking influences from indie, shoegaze, post rock, post hardcore, slowcore and various other genres. midway through 2020 we recorded out first single due for releace in august. I own a range of guitars, amps, pedals and a bass.
Other Musical Projects
midway through 2019 i put together an ambient drone/ post-minimalist album titled "Gerhard Richer Self Portrait" under the name Aerial silver, This mostly consisted of digitally manipulated samples of pianos, celeste and image files run through audacity to turn them into sound files.
Music, basically, is like mathematics, you know, and you’re trying to form patterns, patterns that make you understand what is around you, and patterns that help you get through the next day.”- Thom Yorke
